The Ultimate Hawaiian Trip Part 1
We hadn’t intended on visiting Hawaii. It is so far from our home and the long flight was something we were not wanting to experience, despite the fact that Maui was supposed to be pretty close to paradise. Roger was the father of the bride and it was a destination wedding, so we decided to make it a great adventure.
Despite our exhaustion after traveling across the country and over the ocean , once we arrived in Maui, we knew we had stepped into paradise! We were part of a destination wedding and there could not have been a better location for their marriage to begin.
Wailea Beach was our first stop.
We arrived at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort early in the morning after a long flight from the mainland and walked into an amazing outdoor lobby and Grand Lanai that overlooked the blue Pacific Ocean.

Our room was a Partial Ocean view which was perfect because we could see a view of the ocean but it also faced the gorgeous grounds and Luau area.

Strolling through the resort was very peaceful. The lush, colorful foliage against an amazing blue sky was absolute paradise. We chose to stay around the resort for the first few days before the wedding. The beauty of it was too good to walk away from.

We especially enjoyed the infinity pool that was only for adults. A cool drink and soft Hawaiian music floating through the air while gazing out at the ocean were all we needed to be in total relaxation.

Dining At The Resort
If you want to relax on the resort without having to get into a car, there are a few nice onsite restaurants. Humble Market Kitchin is their signature restaurant. The cuisine is Hawaiian inspired. It is open for breakfast and dinner. The dress code is business casual or as they call it, “smart casual”.
Kapa Bar & Grill is their open aired bar and grill and they are open for lunch and dinner. Their dress is casual.
And the Whale’s Tale is their onsite coffee house serving amazing coffee and cold pressed juices as well as smoothies.
You can also grab a snack and cocktail at the Nalu Pool Bar which opens for lunch.
Day two of the trip
Day two of our trip started with Starbucks coffee right off of the lobby area and a walk along the water’s edge. As we strolled down the walkway we passed the Grand Wailea Resort next door. One beautiful resort after another lined this area of Maui.

A day of water and sunshine
The wedding party gathered at the family pool to enjoy cold pina coladas and lots of sunshine and laughter. Friends, family, drinks and an amazingly gorgeous backdrop created a memory of a lifetime. By the end of the day, not only did we have family but we made new friendships as well.

So Many Things to Do
If you are looking for something to do off of the resort, you don’t need to go far. That evening we all walked to Longhi’s Italian Restaurant right next door in The Shops of Wailea. The pasta dishes were amazing. And the ambiance of the outdoor seating was relaxing with the cool sea breeze coming through.
