MY TRAVEL

Always Something to Do in St Pete Beach, Florida –

We call it home. It’s our home away from home really, but the second we cross over the Pinellas Bayway and see the Don Cesar looming ahead of us in all of it’s pink glory, we breathe in the salty sea air and say “we are home”.

The Don Cesar – St Pete Beach

This is part of our heart and soul.  It’s where we long to be during the rest of the year when we are in Louisville with the freezing cold February’s that seem to last an entire year!

Our quaint little place is across the street from the beach. It sits on the Boca Ciega Bay side on the 3rd floor. We can watch the sunrise from our windows and very often there are manatees and dolphins gracefully swimming outside our window.

Every year we count the days until we can get back to our beloved St Pete Beach. But in the meantime we remain grateful that we own a tiny slice of our favorite state.

Adventures in St Pete

What to do in St Pete Beach? The options are endless. Just walking down the beach taking in the salty sea air is enough for most. It’s our favorite thing to do whether it’s morning, afternoon or after the sun sets. But if you want a little bit more than just beachtime, here are a few ideas.

What To Do In The Area

You can visit the Dali Museum where Salvador Dali’s art is displayed for all to enjoy, or enjoy the stunning collection of glass artwork at the Chihuly Collection.

John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk sits on Madeira Beach and is just a few miles north of St Pete Beach. It offers everything under the sun! There are local restaurants such as The Friendly Fisherman, The Hut, Scully’s or you can find the Hooters and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

But one of our MUST Haves when we first get to St Pete Beach is the fish spread and AMAZING pina coladas from Jimmy B’s Beach Bar across the street. We barely get the car unloaded before we are walking across the street to the beach for sunset and our favorite food.

At the end of the day

At the end of the day we like to take our chairs outside behind our building after the sun has gone down. we can listen to the sounds of the water lapping against the wall and voices floating over the water from distant buildings. It’s such a relaxing end to a long day of beach and sun! We hear the faint music coming from beach bars across the street and as silly as it sounds we watch the airplanes in the distance as they circle Tampa International Airport preparing to land. It is a silly pastime but one that we look forward to. And it’s a great end to a great day.

I could go on and on, but I will be back with more amazing stories and photos of this gorgeous place in the near future.
